| Talented Russian soviet painter. Famous for his genre works on the themes of everyday life of soviet people. Created also some well-known landscapes. Bokov's works are preserved at the State Art museums of Russia and former USSR (including the State Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow and the State Museum of Fine Arts of Karelia).
Anatoli Bokov got the professional education primarily at the Moscow Art School, where he studied in 1930-34 under the tutorship of K.Zefirov. Then he graduated from the Moscow State Institute of Fine Arts (1937 - 1942) where his professors were S.Gerasimov and Dm.Pokarzhevski. Participant of art exhibitions beginning from 1939. In the end of his life became a Corresponding Member of the Academy of Arts of the USSR. (*listed pg. 38) |
